As you may or may not know, a member of our family is incredibly sick. Amy is fighting tooth and nail for her life against a tumour in her stomach. Not only that, but she was beaten up a year ago, and one of her lungs was pierced through, so surgery is even more dangerous.
This Thursday, April the 12th, she’s undergoing huge surgery - if she’s well enough - to try to battle her tumour. She has a 10% chance of survival. The odds are stacked horrendously against her.
Despite that, Amy is one of the strongest, kindest, bravest, most lovely people I know. She’s always smiling, always making me laugh and she is a true hero, in every sense of the word.
So this weekend and beyond, let’s show Amy just how important she is, how much we care. Let’s show the whole world how this fandom treats family, how it’s always there for them, no matter what, and how much of a difference we can make to people’s lives.
