one time my mom dragged me along a christian concert at liberty university (aka one of the most religion-oriented schools in virginia) and made me sit through five hours of her crying and people in jean cover-all dresses swaying back and forth

and as we were leaving, they were handing out free water and i was chatting with one of the girls handin’ ‘em out and when i went to leave, she was like, “i hope you and jesus made a connection tonight!”

and i mumbled and rolled my eyes and my mom got so fucking offended and glared and cried at me the whole time

“it’s going to be horrible if the entire family is up in heaven and you’re not”
